The camera fades in, showing the arena’s secluded car park. Despite the fact that the area was well-lit, no one is using it at this point in time, giving off an eerily quiet feel to the place as rows of neatly parked cars idle silently in their parking spots like professionally trained butlers, waiting until when they are needed by their masters.

Suddenly, the puttering of an engine is heard in the distance. The camera turns towards the car park entrance, showing a taxi driving into the car park. Dirty and worn, its windows delaminating and the paint fading, it pulls up with a puff of dark-grey smoke from its exhaust at it putters to a halt.

The back door opens; out steps the long and slender legs of a woman, complete with fishnet stockings and black heels, followed by a dark pink mini-skirt and a fair purple tank top. Moments later, her face is revealed to be Yoko Kurama, wearing a pair of dark shades, looking fresh out of a nightclub. Her hair seems messy, unlike the usual silky smooth finish that people usually see her with. As she unsuccessfully attempts to straighten her hair with her hands, she gives the driver some money, before she gingerly walks towards the back entrance while the taxi speeds off.

Stepping through the double doors, she enters a busy hallway as several members of the backstage staff are running around, making last-minute preparations for the show later tonight. Down it, she notices Lelouch Lamperouge sitting on his ornate throne, looking out of place in the hustle and bustle as he supervises his assistants accepting applications from several people.

Having no interest in his recruitment process, she makes her way very slowly in the other direction. With every step, she ignores the greetings from the backstage staff and wrestlers alike as they stay out of her way, not wishing to incur her wrath. She takes off her shades, revealing bags under her eyes. Stumbling around, she accidentally runs into a Roxanne-less Rob Alarm as she turns around a corner. The surprise catches her off-guard, sending her stumbling towards the floor as she struggles to regain her bearings, mulling around the floor for a few moments. Rob looks concerned as he helps Yoko back up on her feet.

Rob Alarm: Are you alright, Yoko? You don’t look so good.

Yoko forces an awkward smile meant to reassure Rob and nods slowly.

Yoko Kurama: I'll be fine just a little tired that’s all; thanks for your concern.

She brushes off some dust from her clothing and continues walking towards her dressing room. After a few more graceless knocks into people as she struggles to balance herself on her feet, coupled with the fact that she never looks up to see where she is going, she finally reaches her destination. The relief that she experiences quickly dissipates as she looks up. Her eyes widen as she sees the words “R. I. P. NATSUMI” stencilled on in bold, white letters. Her usual picture of a howling fox has been replaced by one of a gravestone. On it is a photo of a cheerful-looking Asian girl perhaps no more than 18 years old and the numbers “1988-2005”. In fact, it looks as if the girl on the photo appears to be a slightly older version of the girl in the photo that Yoko received during the previous pay-per-view, MWP Explosion.

Previously, Yoko had broken down into a boneless heap. This time, she lashes out in a fit of maddening rage, screaming all of her angst and all of her anger at the door, striking the door with everything she has. The door withstands her first few punches gallantly, standing firm against her violence as the sounds of her fists making contact with the thick, fireproof door echo throughout the hall as everybody turns to look at the developing scene.

Minutes pass; the effects begin to show on both sides. Punch after punch after punch leaves behind small fist-sized dents in the door as the steel appears to be bending in protest to the force it was being subjugated to. Conversely, blisters are starting to form on Yoko’s hands as they start dripping red onto the floor as well as staining the door where her punches land.

As she yells out all of her frustration and continuing to punch the door with force, Rob Alarm comes to Yoko’s aid, having heard and investigated the loud banging and yelling emanating throughout the hallways of the arena.

His efforts fail to get any notice from Yoko, who is now shaking her body uncontrollably as she stops her actions, responding to the warmth and proximity of Rob’s body. She couldn’t hear him. She didn’t want to hear him. To her, everything seemed to collapse in on itself and whirl around her in chaos but she could not register any of it. Everything kept building up inside of her until she could not hold it in any further, not that she wanted to either.

The scream that she lets out was one of loss and denial, of pain and suffering, and of a powerful, raw emotion too large to ever be adequately described. In her mind, a million images of what could have been and what would never be flash by. Her heart and soul shatter and turn into dust as her future flashes through her only in an instant. For a single moment, she feels as if she could touch all the people who have touched her life before.

Then, after a moment all too brief, it was gone, leaving a strange, unfamiliar hollowness inside, as she realises that nothing could change the loss that she had suffered.

In the confines of the hallway, Rob carefully manoeuvres himself between the wall and her. Then, he grabs Yoko and pulls her into a hug as she buries herself into his warm chest and begins to sob uncontrollably.
